Hotel Chocolat – Ahem, a poem…

We believe that chocolate is a must on Valentine’s Day. That’s why Hotel Chocolat couldn’t miss the opportunity to exhibit their products through a series of themed emails that stood out in our inbox recently.

The most representative for us was this one, which sheds light on a hero product: the milk chocolate hearts packaged in small boxes with different themed notes written on them. Amazingly, some images of these little boxes are arranged in a certain order and linked together with extra words to create a cute poem. In addition, the lyrics are animated to fade in one by one, encouraging the reader to keep reading until the end.  This last line does actually come up with two CTAs : “Send a love note”, which is related to this email’s hero products and “Shop Valentine’s gifts” directing to the whole gifts category.

And right at the end, there’s a banner promoting the end of season’s final reductions – just in time if anyone wants to enjoy February’s chill with some Christmassy treats ⛄❄.
