If you’ve not heard of The Book of Everyone, you really should check them out. They produce beautifully designed, 50-page personalised books stuffed full of curious facts! What they also do well is send emails. One of our recommendations to clients is to always send an email out from a person, it feels nicer and creates a connection rather than just receiving another email from another brand.
Meet Joe, he’s their ‘Customer Happiness Specialist’ who pops up in the from field, is even introduced at the bottom of the email (you can check out his picture if you like). It’s a great example of taking the idea of personality further and making the interaction with the brand more meaningful. Thumbs up.
Although emails informing customers of their last chance to order before Christmas are coming through thick and fast, the use of a dedicated discount code, multiple purchase discounts and a timer countdown help to create a sense of urgency that doesn’t feel pushy, in fact makes the email more engaging and creates some stand out. Plus, we love any company who’s prepared to remind us that we’ve been procrastinating and not buying presents.
